...But Why Would I Want To Do A Thing Like That?
The Events That Made Up June 20th
Saturday, Jun. 21, 2003 | 1:25 p.m.

June 20, 2003, was quite the special day. I didn't have a whole lot happen, but all that did was eventful enough.

I was on the phone with Michael from about 1:30 a.m. until 6 a.m. That in itself was special for various reasons. First of all, I don't usually talk on the phone and when I do, I hardly ever stay on phone longer than an hour. Secondly, I've never talked to anyone for that long before. Lastly, it was special just because it was Michael. That made me sound like a girl, didn't it?

After my alarm clock went off at 6 a.m., I got off the phone so that I could get ready for class. By the time 7:30 a.m. rolled around, I still hadn't left the house. My class starts at 8 a.m., but I'm never there on time. Because I still had not left the house, my mom began yelling at me, screaming "Get you're ass out of this house! Get the hell out!" She yelled the same two sentences at me for the 5 or 6 minutes it took me to get the rest of my things together and leave. Right before I left, I told her she needed to put a hormone patch on. That really pissed her off.

I went to class and pretty much slept off and on the entire time I was there.

When I arrived home, my mom was no where to be found. About 30 minutes after I got home, she came home; she'd been to the grocery store to pick up a few things, one of them being my birthday cake. She'd been to Movie Gallery as well, and asked me to put About Schmit in the DVD player. We sat down and watched the movie. Actually, my mom viewed the entire thing, but I couldn't keep myself focused on it. Don't get me wrong, it was funny, but I just wasn't in the mood for a movie. I ended up calling Lisa to see what she was up to. We talked for a while about nothing much -- that's always fun.

After I got off the phone with her, it struck me that I forgot to turn my cell phone on earlier, and that someone may have called. I dialed my cell number, checked my voice messages, and sure enough, someone called -- Michael. I called him back, talked for a while, then dialed Lisa back on 3-way. I think I ended up being on the phone with them for an hour and a half. Once Michael and I got off the phone, my mom asked if I wanted to go the Olive Garden for dinner.

We went, we ate a little, boxed up what we didn't eat, and came home. Once back in the house, I took my shower, got dressed, and called Christina to see if she wanted to go to the movies. We decided to see The Hulk at 9:55 p.m. I left the house about 9, picked up Christina and Tasha (her little sister), then went to the Governor Square movie theater. The line to get into the movie was long as hell. After we'd gotten into the theater, we found 3 seats and waited for the movie to begin. I think I watched the first 30 minutes of the movie. I got kind of bored with the movie, and having had no sleep in a very long time, I ended up falling asleep. I slept through the entire movie. I woke up right as the final credits came up. Christina and Tasha were laughing at me for sleeping through the movie. I couldn't help it, though -- I was so tired.

We left the theater around 12:30 a.m., and headed over to Borders. Right as I pulled into my parking space, my cell phone went off. Michael called to see what I was up to. We talked for about 15 minutes, then got hung up with one another because my phone was breaking up. I had to wait for about an hour just to buy the Harry Potter book. While I was waiting, I also picked up The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand and Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut.

We left Borders at 1:30, I drove back to the neighborhood, dropped Christina and Tasha off at their house, then I came home. By 2:30 a.m. I had my night clothes on, washed my face, and was ready to crash. However, I decided to call Michael and fix some of my left over Seafood Portifino instead. By 3:15 a.m., I was in bed. By 3:16 a.m., I was asleep.

My mom began getting me up at 9:30 this morning, but I didn't roll out until 10. I did my morning process, ate breakfast, took a shower, got dressed, and did my hair. After that? Well, I sat down and began writing this.

So, what am I going to do today? I'm going to wash this face mask off, make up my mom's bed, get in the car, take Tyler his copy of Harry Potter, and then go to Target. Once all of that has been done, I'll probably come home and take a nap. I'm still very tired.
